Big Belly

This one is for my sister Jennifer. She wanted to see how big I really am without a big shirt on. Hope this makes you smile.

Lost track of time...still waiting

Nothing new at this time. No contractions and now sign that the baby will be born anytime soon. I am pretty uncomfortable at night when trying to go to sleep. (Hot flashes...can't breath deep...) but other than that I feel fine most of the time. Mom is cooking for us every day and it's so nice. Thanksgiving was not the same without all the family but we managed to stuff ourselves on turkey and pie. It's getting cold outside and we even had some snow flurries today.

Not the Last week

I went to the midwife yeasterday and she didn't give us very much hope at all that it would be anytime soon. Things are still fine...just slow. My mom is here now and we are just waiting around. The Midwife even said it could be as late as December the way it looks now. Things could change at any moment...but it doesn't look like that will be the case. I will say it will be at least another week.

The Last Week (supposedly)

So this is it! At my last appointment my midwife told me that I am ready to go. I have even started to dialate a little! She said that the head has not dropped fully, but I think it drobbed a bit more last night. I can breath eaiser today. John has threatened to stand me on my head for another week and a half...but I will not wait any longer. I am ready to have this baby. She will arrive when she wants to. I am not having strong or frequent contractions but my prediction is that within a week we will FINNALY have a baby.

I finally bought a carseat and I am almost finished packing my bag for the hospital. We have a phone list ready to go so that everyone can be contacted. We may be asking some of you to call some people for us. My mom will be here on Sunday.

I don't plan on taking any medication for pain...but we will see. Brice Blair has bet me $5 so I am determined to hold out.

John will be updating the site and adding pictures on Eleanor as soon as he can.

Holiday Plans

Obviouly for Thanksgiving we are not going anywhere, but my mom will be with us awaiting the delivery.

For Christmas, we plan to visit both families. John doesn't have long for the break so we will be keeping the roads hot.

Depart December 20th and arrive in Charlotte NC where someone will pick us up and take us to my parents in Virginia.
December 26th very early in the morning we will drive to Cleveland, TN where we will spend the rest of the time with John's parents. We may leave for Cleveland on Dec. 25 when my family is finished with Christmas.
We will probably have to fly out on Dec. 31st because it is quite a bit cheaper than the 1st and it looks like many of the flights on the first are booked.

John starts school on Jan 2nd.

I hope to purchase tickets this week.

So How is John?

John is doing well. He is studing so hard to get ahead so that he won't be so stressed out when Eleanor finally joins us. He plans to watch Star Wars III this weekend. As you can see he is in deep thought in his office/Eleanors room. I freeze him to death because I am always so hot. He usualy studies in his wool socks and a bathrobe to try to stay warm. So far he is doing VERY well in all of his classes...even the maternity classes that we attended. John will be a wonderful dad.

Week 36

Yes, that is snow. On Saturday we got our first snow. It eventually covered the ground and somehow managed to knock out our power for about 2 hours. It melted by the next day though.
I went to my appointment yeasterday and everything seems to be fine. I am going to the doctor every week now. I have now gained 22lbs.
